BC79 - Celebration

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We have had a ton of snow, so it was interesting, but wonderful to have my parents here visiting from Phoenix.

Here is my entry for Blogger's Challenge #79. The theme is celebration. This page is from a calendar I made for my mom for Christmas. I felt it was appropriate for celebration.

IMG_0025_0140

This page celebrates the coming New Year. Is it 2009 already? Didn't we just go through the whole Y2K fiasco. My how time flies.

The stamps are a combination. The owl comes from Sweet & Sassy Stamps, and the champagne glass comes from Magnolia. The entire calendar is owls (my mom's favorite). Check back soon. I plan to post all the pages over the next couple weeks.

Have a great After-Christmas-Shopping Friday.

Snowplow - BC78

My husband works for La Plata County Road and Bridge. During the winter, he drives a snow plow. Boy has he been busy lately. We have had tons of snow with more on the way.

He asked me to make cards for some of the guys he works with. I had a really fun idea that I just had to share. Here it is...

IMG_0014_0078y

My 17-year-old son helped me design this. The stamp set i Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories. I hand-drew the plow and the lights on top of the truck. I used Copics to color The orange truck comes from the color of our county trucks. The guys wear bright yellow jackets, so I colored the jacket bright yellow. I used the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder for the snow background. If only I could find my white liquid applique, I would have made a big mound of snow in the plow.

Stay warm and have a great day!

Tilda skating again...

Here is another card using Skating Tilda by Magnolia.

IMG_0001_0073

I had actually colored 5 Tilda's, so I had some to spare. This Tilda is colored the same as my other Skating Tilda card. The laoyout is just a bit different.

IMG_0003_0075

In this picture, the card is displayed with a lovely flower arrangement made by my friend, Barb. She has a business called Designs by Barb. She does amazing work with flowers.

It is a snowy day here in Durango, CO, so we are all cuddled up by the fire. The kids have a snow day today, so sledding is in order.

I hope you have a beautiful day.

My daughter's creations

My 11-year-old daughter has spent the better part of the last 2 days in my stamp room. She has been making cards for her friends (and for us apparently). I am so proud at how her art is progressing. Here are a couple of the cards she made this weekend.

IMG_0011_0077

She punched out the snowflake with the Big Shot. She then used the ngative space instead of the snowflake itself. She used glue on a white cardstock underneath the image and covered with glitter. She used some craft jewels I have had laying around for years as embellishments. How cute are these?

Have a great Monday!

Blogger's Challenge BC77

Here is my entry to Blogger's Challenge #77. The challenge is to make a holiday ornament or decoration. Here is my entry.

IMG_1854_0068

I had a lot of fun making this ornament. However, I was quite challenged trying to take a picture that showed it well. I tried three options, and the one above I believe is the best. However, I posted the other two as I think they help to show different aspects of the ornament.

I love the way the picture on the right picked up the rainbow iridescence.

The stamp set is Winter Post by Stampin' Up! I got he ornament from Hobby Lobby.

Have a great weekend.

Magnolia Stamp

I met the nicest gal on line. Her name is Lim, and she was kind enough to give me info on the Magnolia Stamp Club. In the process, she mentioned she had an extra winter collection, and was I surprised when she offered to sell me her set at her cost. Wow. I love this Winter Collection, and I was so excited to receive it.

Here is my first carding using a stamp from the Winter Collection called "Tilda In Winter Stockings."

IMG_1864_0063

The paper is by Paper Pizazz. The flowers are Prima's. The bookplate is from Stampin' Up!, the silver Hodpodge collection. The greeting is from Sweet & Sassy Stamps.

IMG_1865_0064

I colored this little cutie with Copics.

Hair: E33 and Y21

Skin: E000 and E01

Shirt: G21 and G28

Dress and socks: R000 and RV11

Go visits Lim's website. She makes the most beautful cards. I think you will be impressed.

Winter Post Deer

Here is a fun simple card that is easy to mail because it is not bulky.

IMG_1636_0219

The background is made with the polished stone technique. I really like the Christmas colors and the simplicity of the card. It is pretty easy to make and a nice one to teach in workshops.

Have a great Wednesday.

Skating Tilda

Over the last year, my daughter has become very interested in figure skating. She is going to start competing this year. I searched and searched for skater images, but was not particularly impressed until I found this image.

IMG_1842_0059 copy

This cute little skater is called Skating Tilda and comes from the Magnolia collection. I have just fallen in love with these kids.

I colored Tilda with Copic Markers. I absolutely love my new Copics and am anxious to learn more Copic techniques.

The flower was made with the Five Petal Punch and some handmade paper I have had laying around for a couple years. To create the dots, I colored with Stampin' Up! Basic Black marker and used little dots of Crystal Effects to give it the raised bead look. The leaves are made with the Martha Stewart Holly Punch and more handmade paper.

In the bottom left corner, I used Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder to help "Season's Greetings" stand out.

These cards are being donated to the Durango Figure Skating Club Skate Swap to help raise money for their activities. Keep watching for more Magnolias.

Happy Birthday Mom

I made this card for my mom's birthday. She is a serious owl collector, so this card was perfect for her.

IMG_1793_0012

I have had this stamp for quite a while, and to be honest, I am not quite sure who makes it. I think this owl is just beautiful. I colored him with Prismacolor pencils, using the Gamsol technique. The background piece was created using the Cuttlebug Smoosh technique from Technique Junkies.

Blessings to you!

Smile

This card was created using a stamp set from a brand new company called Our Craft Lounge.

IMG_1797_0015

I stamped the image on designer series paper and cut the dress out and mounted it on the stamped image. I used an older Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' pack for the paper and embellishments.

Our Craft Lounge has some incredibly cute stamps. Go check them out.
